Logging In – OpenID
Just about everything on this site is open to the public regardless of whether you log in or not. You do NOT need to be registered with the site to do RSS feeds and such.
I’ve made registration open to the public, but be warned: if I don’t like the looks of your login ID, I will delete it without warning. That won’t prevent you from seeing any content, but I’m trying to preempt spam attacks.

OpenID
You can log in to Smatters using OpenID.
Friends and family are welcome to use OpenID credentials to register with Smatters or to post comments.
When you log in, you can type just the domain name part, or a domain and path, or a full URL. Depending on your provider you may be able to use HTTPS instead of HTTP.
For OpenID, I myself have been using the free Personal Information Pages (PIP) service provided by Verisign Labs.
The OpenID service uses the WP-OpenID plugin. Thanks to Will Norris for help in making this work.
